Siemens Nixdorf Informationssysteme AG hopes to escape from its woes with a vast increase in its international business, particularly in the US and Asia. The board member responsible for sales, Robert Hoogstraten, told Handelsblatt newspaper that Siemens Nixdorf hoped to bring its overseas turnover – currently only 35% of the total, up to the same level at its domestic sales within four years. Hoogstraten said the company won a 40% increase in personal compu ter sales in foreign mark ets, to 260,000, in the year to September 30, and looks to ship 400,000 to international markets this year. Part of the expan sion plan will involve co- operation with other companies on distribution.
