Slovenian telephone exchange maker Iskratel SA, 48%-owned by Siemens AG, says 1996 net profit rose 15% to $2.3m as exports took off. Sales rose 22% to $100.8m and exports were up 24% at $66.6m. The company told Reuters that it expects to increase exports to 80% of production this year, from 66% in 1996, while total sales are expected to rise to about $106m this year. Half Isktratel’s exports went to Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, while it also sold to Macedonia, Yugoslavia, Bosnia, Turkey and Germany.
