SIEMENS COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS MERGES TWO UNITS IN THE US

Growing demand by the regional Bell Operating Companies to offer the advanced services and architectures of a single supplier has prompted Siemens Communication Systems Inc in Boca Raton, Florida to merge two units to bring together the technologies of the company’s EWSD main telephone exchange and its packet switching system products: the move means that Siemens Data Switching Systems Inc of Hauppauge, New York will go into Siemens Public Switching Systems Inc down in Boca Raton.
