Siemens just recently signed a three-year framework agreement with Orascom Telecom, assuring Siemens a considerable share in Orascom Telecom’s annual investment volume of over $548 million.
As one of two primary suppliers for the Algeria project, Siemens IC Mobile will be installing base stations and microwave systems for Orascom’s GSM900 network in Algeria as part of the current agreement. Work will begin in the autumn and is due to be completed early in 2002.
