The new company is pushing for a license to enable it to manufacture handsets. If all goes to plan then it expects to receive it from the MII sometime in May.
Additional to the two companies established operations, the new business has acquired a plant in Nanjing and another two in Beijing. Siemens will also be funding three new research and development centers in Beijing.
