Siebel and Unisys Sign CRM Deal

By CBR Staff Writer

Siebel Systems Inc yesterday added another vendor to its line-up of hardware partners, this time netting Unisys in a global multifaceted alliance that will see the two push Siebel’s front office suite on Unisys’ new NT servers. Under the agreement, Unisys said it will co-market and sell Siebel’s web-based customer relationship management software, Siebel 99, on its ES7000 servers. Unisys will also offer consulting and implementation services to customers. In addition, Siebel named Unisys as its preferred application service provider for Latin America, South America, Caribbean, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Unisys also said it will deploy Siebel Sales internally to automate its own sales organization, in a similar deal to the one Hewlett-Packard Co struck with Oracle earlier this year. In separate news, Siebel will also announce a partnership with IBM Corp today (see separate story). Spokespeople for Siebel and Unisys were not available as we went to press.
