Following its acquisition of food and drink equipment maker APV Plc in May (CI No 3,158), Siebe Plc has been busy integrating the newly purchased company into its Control Systems division. Siebe, the group which runs 150 companies, says it wants to give APV a better customer focus and management structure, viewing the company as a major growth opportunity. In a cost cutting and integration move, Siebe has shut down APV’s corporate London headquarters and moved all the staff to an existing APV site in Crawley, West Sussex. Siebe says APV, which employs some 7,000 staff across the world, will play a significant part in its Control Systems division, bringing the customer one point of contact. Donald Sorterup has been named APV president, following the departure of Neil French.
