ShoreTel Q2 revenue up 16%

ShoreTel, a provider of IP unified communications services, has reported revenue of $35.3m for the second quarter fiscal 2009 ended December 31, 2008, an increase of 16% compared to revenue of $30.56m for fiscal 2008.

The company has posted a GAAP net loss of $1.9m, or $0.04 per share, for the second quarter of fiscal year 2009, compared to a GAAP net income of $1.8m, or $0.04 per diluted share, reported in the second quarter of fiscal year 2008.

For the first six months of fiscal 2009, the company posted total revenues of $71.19m, compared to $62.53m in the comparable period of fiscal 2008. Net loss for the first half of fiscal 2009 was $4.1m, or $0.09 per share, versus a net income of $4.39m, or $0.1 per share, for the same period of fiscal 2008.

John Combs, CEO of ShoreTel, said: Though we can’t avoid being affected by an economic storm of this magnitude, ShoreTel continues to build momentum with strong sequential international revenue growth and continued focus on developing innovative solutions that help our customers cut costs without compromising performance.
