The system will aim to replicate estimating methods through screens, user-defined fields, and built-in configurators through its E2 Advanced Estimating, and will also attempt to minimize material waste with multiple piece/part nesting.
Another enhancement is the new E2 Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) module, which will work with trading partners to enable the electronic exchange of data between E2 users and their respective customers. It is expected to be able to handle order entry, shipping, and billing transactions.
Shoptech has also announced improvements on its UPS World Ship interface that will allow packing list information to be sent to UPS and pull back actual shipping rates into E2.
