SHL SYSTEMHOUSE PREDICT QUICK RETURN TO PROFIT

By CBR Staff Writer

Commenting on its fourth quarter and annual losses (figures, page five), SHL Systemhouse Inc says it expects to return to profit very soon: Our objective is a sustainable level of earnings growth from an expanding base of transformational outsourcing and client-server computing-related services, said chairman and chief executive John Oltman; about $37.5m of the charge relates to completion of remaining mainframe-based complex systems integration projects and a wind-down of related infrastructure; before the charge, the operating loss would have been $6,4m, mainly from unexpected delays in signing and beginning work on large contracts.
