SHL SYSTEMHOUSE HAS $7.25M (US) ORDER FROM THE MOUNTIES

By CBR Staff Writer

We all know what they say about the Mounties, even if we haven’t actually sat through Rose Marie, but these days they need a bit of high-tech assistance to direct their hoofprints through the frozen wastes in relentless pursuit of their man, and they have turned to Tandem Computers Inc, or rather to SHL Systemhouse Inc of Ottawa: SHL has a $7.25m (US) contract to replace the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Ottawa’s national communications network for law enforcement agencies with a brand new system that involves $5m of Tandem Computers NonStop systems, with SHL getting $2.25m for the custom software.
