The insurance and underwriting group CE Heath Plc is growing comfortably at the interim stage, although it warns that Hurricane Hugo and Piper Alpha may effect its second half performance. As for its computer services division pre-tax profits grew 81% to UKP1.5m on turnover up 35.5% at UKP13.2m. This impressive growth in profits is partially ascribed to timing factors and, according to Heath, does not presage a growth rate for the entire year. Nevertheless, Peterborough Software’s new products and consultancy services are reported to be progressing well as is Datasure’s penetration of both the insurance broking and Lloyd’s underwriting markets.
