ShareWave Inc, the digital wireless home networking technology start-up, has beefed up its board of directors with executives from three big-name players. The El Dorado Hills, California- based company has lured Robba Benjamin, VP and general manager of Cisco Systems Inc’s newly-created Consumer Line of Business, Craig Lee, a VP with Ameritech Development Corp, and Dino Vendetti of Vulcan Ventures Inc. The new appointments bring the total number of ShareWave board members to seven. The company recently completed its fourth round of funding, in which Cisco and Ameritech participated. Other investors in the $25m financing were Philips Electronics Inc and Intel Corp, bringing the total capital raised by ShareWave to date to $42.5m. The money will go to furthering its product engineering, marketing, and technology development efforts. ShareWave was founded in January by former Intel and venture capital executives and is focused on developing products that help establish the home PC as the multimedia furnace that centrally connects and controls computing power, digital information and digital appliances in the home through the creation of a wireless home network.
