Alpha Industries Inc, making microwave components in San Jose, filed with the US Securities & Exchange Commission to offer up to 2.0m shares, all new, and plans to use net proceeds will be used to repay debt and for capital expenditures, which includes funding of equipment purchase, working capital and potential acquisitions. The offering will be made via underwriters Montgomery Securities, Oppenheimer & Co Inc and Adams, Harkness & Hill Inc.

Comdisco Inc, Rosemont, Illinois has filed a shelf registration with the US Securities & Exchange Commission for up to $750m in debt securities. Proceeds will be used for buying equipment, repaying short-term and redeeming or buying in senior debt.

Paradigm Technology Inc, designing and making high-speed static RAMs in San Jose has filed with the US Securities & Exchange Commission to offer 2.4m shares, 1.5m of them new, with about 500,000 of them being sold internationally. Net proceeds will be used for expansion of manufacturing capacity, debt repayment, capital expenditures and working capital. The offering in the US and Canada will be managed by an underwriting group led by PaineWebber Inc, Smith Barney Inc and Needham & Co Inc; their international arms will handle the foreign offer.
