3Dlabs Inc, the graphics chip designer that started life as Benchmark Technologies Ltd in Kingston-upon-Thames, UK has filed with the Securities & Exchange Commission to go public with an initial offering of 2.5m shares, 2.14m of them new, at a target price of $11 to $13 per share. The company did not give plans for the cash. Oppenheimer & Co Inc and UBSSecurities LLC are co-managers of the underwriting.
Vitesse Semiconductor Corp, Camarillo, California Gallium Arsenide chip pioneer, has filed with the US Securities & Exchange Commission to offer 3 million shares, all new, to raise $90m or so for site purchase, construction and equipping of a new wafer fabrication facility and expansion of production capacity at the existing facility, and for working capital. Lead underwriter for the issue is Lehman Brothers Inc, and the group also includes Robertson, Stephens & Co LLC and Oppenheimer & Co Inc .
