Pixar Animation Studios Inc, Richmond, California firm owned by Steve Jobs, got its initial public offering of 6m shares away at $22 a share. Pixar is the creative talent behind Walt Disney Co’s just-released Toy Story, already a box office hit.Pixar developers use workstations from Silicon Graphics Inc; it is to work on two more Disney films. The offer price was raised at least twice due to popular investor demand from the original $12 to $14 target range. Underwriters are Robertson Stephens & Co, Hambrecht & Quist LLC and Cowen & Co.
