SEVEN UK COMPANIES TO AGREE PHONE STANDARDS

The seven UK companies involved in seeking to pioneer the embryonic digital cordless payphone business are coming together to agree standards to ensure that all phones will work in the phone zones planned by the would-be operators led by Ferranti International and British Telecom: the other five are STC Plc, Sir Clive Sinclair’s Shea Communications Ltd, GEC Plessey Telecommunications Ltd and Mercury.
