The same Dutch court ruled earlier this year that Lindows infringed the Microsoft trademark, but its decision did not extend to the company’s name.
Lindows last month changed the name of its Linux-based desktop operating system to Linspire, in order to prevent Microsoft filing more lawsuits against it around the world.
Microsoft has had mixed success with its suits elsewhere, seeming to have better results in nations where English is not the first language. In the US, a recent court setback means Microsoft must defend the Windows trademark before a jury.
