SERVICE 800 OFFERS TOLL-FREE SERVICE IN THE CARIBBEAN, LATIN AMERICA

Service 800 SA of Switzerland has an agreement with Argentina and 10 states in the Caribbean to provide toll free dialling using the public switched telephone network. Managing director of the company Jacques Couvas says there is a growing demand for toll free services with the Caribbean and South America from hotel chains, airlines, car rental and tour operators. He also says that Mercury Communications in the UK plans toll free service in 1988.
