Server Technology has released the Smart Power Monitor product line. These products add input current load and power monitoring to existing server cabinet through an integral web-based interface or a serial connection.

According to Server Technology, the Smart Power Monitors have dual power inputs for redundancy and dual outputs to support two Power Distribution Units (PDUs) in-feds to allow one Smart Power Monitor per cabinet.

When a server rack is upgraded with a Smart product line, will allow the user to determine the available power and whether any additional devices can be added to the cabinet without overloading a circuit and bringing down an in-feed, the company said.

The Smart product line is available in a variety of configurations. Rated input voltages and amperage options include: single phase, 3-phase Delta, and 3-phase Wye.

Server Technology said that the horizontal enclosure is 1U for all configurations, and mounts on the back or bottom of a 19-inch or 23-inch rack. All models are compliant to UL 60950-1 for branch circuit protection. Along with an existing server cabinet, a common application for a Smart product line is for storage products like NASs and SANs when users are not sure what the actual power draw is for these systems.

The company said that the Smart product line allows for network monitoring of the CDU using either the serial interface, internal web interface or the Sentry Power Manager (SPM) Software System. The Smart Power Monitors work with all Server Technology basic and metered PDUs, and also with all other brands.
