Another bug found in the Xeon processor will hold back availability of servers using the chip until next month, PC Week has reported. Intel Corp had set July 17 as the availability date for its Xeon chipset, following the discovery of a bug just prior to the launch of the chip in June. But another bug, this time in the error correcting code, was found during the fixing process. Intel sent a memo round to server vendors telling them of the delay, the paper reported. Intel is expected to have a fix ready within the next two weeks. Dell Computer Corp was set to be the first company to ship servers using the Xeon chip.
