Serena launches service management package

Change management vendor Serena Software Inc has launched a package of services to help companies implement best practice processes as described by the IT Infrastructure Library.

By CBR Staff Writer

The company also announced that O2 Ireland is the first European customer to be taking advantage of the package. Serena said it has been working with O2 since August, during which time it has helped the company to implement best practice processes for release management of both internally and externally developed applications.

According to Serena, the package is designed to assess a company’s needs, and then design and implement process improvement programs said to maximize investment in software and application technologies.

Turning the theory of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) into best practice in your own organization can be a difficult task, commented Oliver Coughlan, director of technology at O2 Ireland, as it needs to be built into your business processes at a very basic level. What Serena has helped us to achieve is a comprehensive framework for IT service deployment that ensures best practice is a reality.
