The US Semiconductor Industry Association’s book-to-bill ratio for March was 1.09 compared with 1.05 in March. Shipments to the US market rose by 15.2% to $1,298m from February’s figure of $1,126m. Average monthly orders for the quarter ending in March totalled $1,267m. The March 1990 bookings rate was 3.2% higher than that for December 1989 which was posted at $1,228m, and is 0.2% higher than the average bookings of $1,264m posted one year ago in March 1989. Three-month average orders for March totalled $1,163m to produce a book-to-bill ratio for March of 1.09. For the period that ended in January, the three-month average orders have been revised up to $1,171m to produce a book to-bill ratio of 1.06 against the 1.02 reported.
