Sema Group Plc has expanded its business continuity division into Ireland and Norway, acquiring Dublin-based Business Protection Services Ltd for an undisclosed amount. BPSL offers services on the AS-400, DEC, and Unix platforms for Sun and HP. Its Sema Group Recovery Services unit opened an office in Jersey City, New Jersey last month and plans two more branches for 2000, in Tokyo and Chicago, to add to its eight existing sites. Based in Walton-on-Thames, UK, its business is expected to provide $60.9m towards Sema’s total revenue this year. SGRS has not had any representation in Ireland until now. BPSL has 21 staff, offices in Dublin, Belfast, Waterford and Oslo, 120 customers and revenue of approximately $4.4m.
