How do you view Sony Corp’s imminent entry into the home video games player market? Many people assume that Nintendo Co and Sega Enterprises Ltd, which has been eating Nintendo’s lunch for the past 18 months, pretty much have the business wrapped up between them, and that Sony’s entry will be another of that company’s unsuccessful initiatives to follow the rather sad example of its computer workstation business: one person that is taking the Sony challenge very seriously indeed is Hayao Nakayama, president of Sega, who told Dow Jones & Co he reckons that Sony will be his biggest competition over the next year.
