Eyeing potentially the world’s biggest market, Sega Enterprises Ltd says it has started test marketing its 16-bit Mega-Drive games machine in China in hopes of winning back lost market share from Chinese rivals: it is now selling an 8-bit machine through its Chinese distributor, WKK Industries China, but sales remain minimal because local firms are flooding the market with cheaper 8-bit machines with functions similar to those of Sega’s.
