On Tuesday April 6, Security Dynamics Technologies Inc will formally announce a version of its SecurID authentication for 3Com’s Palm platform. Our strategy is to make SecurID ubiquitous in the market, says product manager Merritt Maxim. What Palm is trying to do, and where we have a nice dovetail with them, is to move away from pure personal productivity to something that can be used with enterprise applications. The Palm can replace laptop computer for some vertical applications.

With the Palm platform still gaining momentum, it’s little wonder that Security Dynamics’ authentication software is not the first to ship for the device. Rival Secure Computing announced the availability of its SafeWord for the Palm on March 22. รก
