Scotts Valley, California-based Seagate Technology Inc has opened its third advanced recording head manufacturing facility in Penang, Malaysia: the 212,000 square foot addition, adjacent to the existing Kampung Jawa facility, will bring Seagate’s Malaysian operations to more than 459,000 square feet of operating space and a total employee population of 7,000; the company says it has now invested $100m in Malaysia over the last six years.
