Seagate Technology Inc chairman and chief executive Alan Shugart – one of the few people in the industry that has done it all over again, and done it better the second time, says the company expects to recoup market share it lost in the December quarter in desktop systems and sees no slowdown in high-end servers; the Scotts Valley-based maker of disk drive and data storage products is also likely to make more software acquisitions, he told the institutional investors, but would not elaborate. Shugart later told reporters not to expect such acquisitions this quarter, Reuter says.
