Two of Seagate Technology Inc’s growing collection of software companies, Frye Computer Systems – developer of the Frye Utilities for Networks – and Seagate Enterprise Management Software, are combining efforts to bring to market an integrated suite of network and system management products. The two companies will be known as Seagate Enterprise Management Software or Seagate EMS, with a US East Coast operation focussed on enterprise local network management and a West Coast effort concentrating on enterprise information technology management. The combined entity’s product strategy will target cross-system offerings and provide a high level of automation to support system and network managers, according to the company. Products will be part of the Seagate Self-managing Enterprise Architecture Suite – the SEASuite, which incorporates network node agents, engines and consoles into a common management structure. The architecture is currently designed to offer enterprise-wide management for servers running NetWare, Windows NT and Unix.
