Singapore is succeeding very well in holding on to its high-tech inward investors, and Seagate Technology Corp has opened another disk drive manufacturing facility in the Singapore quarter of Ang Mo Kio. Seagate invested $135m in fixed assets in the Ang Mo Kio plant, bringing its total fixed assets investment in Singapore to $1,100m. The enormous new 1 million square foot manufacturing plant is capable of producing 50,000 disk drives a day including its Elite 23 23.4Gb 5.25 drive used by EMC Corp.
