SCOA SA’S BID FOR CPU COMPUTERS ENDED UP VERY SUCCESSFUL

The bid by SCOA SA of France for CPU Computers Plc (CI No 757) got caught in the market crash and end-ed up a lot more successful than the company wanted: SCOA bid only the then current market price of 92 pence because it wanted most of the outside shareholders to hang in there and leave it with simple maj-ority control, but, even held up by the bid, CPU’s price is now down at 80 pence, 92 pence looks attract-ive, and when the offer closed Friday, SCOA had acceptances for 89.95% of the equity – which should je-ust be enough to keep the quote.
