Santa Cruz Operation Inc is cruising along as it waits for the opportunity which it hopes will be provided by the arrival of Intel Corp’s IA-64 architecture and the IBM Corp AIX-based Montery64 operating system which it will sell on IA-64 systems as its next-generation Unix. SCO reported second quarter net income up 20% at $3.84m over $3.2m on revenue which increased 10.2% to $55.73m over $50.54m. Earnings per share were $0.11, a couple of cents ahead of estimates. At the half way mark net income was up 91% at $6.94m over $3.62m on revenue which rose 10.6% to $108.44m over $98.03m.
