The outright 4,500F= bid by Framatome SA for Telemecanique Electronique SA has stirred Schneider SA, which launched the original bid that brought Framatome forward as a white knight, to launch its own bid for the entire company rather than just control: Schneider is now bidding 5,400F= for the 75.5% of the shares it does not already hold; and F=? That’s the symbol France would like us to use for the franc, and it comes after the number.
