SCHLUMBERGER PUTS ITS FAIRCHILD WESTON SYSTEMS BUSINESS ON THE BLOCK

Schlumberger Ltd, looking to divest its hotchpotch of tenuously related technology businesses, has now firmly put its Fairchild Weston Systems aerospace and military electronics business on the block: the unit, which makes high-definition TV cameras for aircraft cockpits, radar jammers, flight recorders and gunnery training systems, does $320m a year with 3,500 staff.
