SCAN OPTICS WINS PERTEC

Optical image processing specialist Scan Optics Inc, East Hartford, Connecticut outbid both Point 4 and General Automation to land Pick popper Pertec Computer Corp, Irvine and will take on 150 of its staff. The Pertec machines, sold here by Kode International, will continue, and Scan Optics, which makes Consolidated Computer data entry systems under licence, will look at adding Pertec hardware to its mid-range. Terms of the pact were not given.
