SCALA BUSINESS SOLUTIONS PLANS NORWEGIAN ACQUISITION

Dutch enterprise resource planning (ERP) vendor Scala Business Solutions NV has signed a letter of intent to acquire its Norwegian partner, Scala Norge AS. Scala had revenues of $60m last year, and has racked up revenues of $58.9m in the first nine months of this year, 75% of which came from the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. The company targets sales at the operating units of multinational companies which might, at their headquarters, be running ERP packages from major players such as SAP or Baan. Scala maintains 52 offices in 28 countries, as well as maintaining partner relationships with 29 companies in another 22 countries. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
