California Microwave Inc of Sunnyvale, California says its subsidiary, Satellite Transmission Systems Inc has received a $2.3m contract from the Turkish Post, Telegraph & Telephone Administration to supply three Ku-Band (14/12 GHz) mobile satellite news gathering trucks and hub communications equipment to be located in Ankara: the trucks will provide live mobile video and Intelsat International Business Service voice, data and fax communications from remote locations anywhere in Turkey to the hub satellite earth station; from the hub station, video and audio news and entertainment programming will be broadcast over an Intelsat VI satellite to home satellite dishes and cable TV satellite receive earth stations throughout Turkey and the Turkish-speaking parts of the former Soviet Republics.
