SAS Institute Inc, Cary, North Carolina, has developed a data warehousing system for use with its executive information software. The package – Orlando – supports HP-UX, Solaris, AIX and Windows. It will be available this month. The base SAS system costs from $1,000, but fees for Orlando have yet to be determined. Orlando includes support for OLE 2.0, Lotus Notes and an interface to Open Database Connectivity. SAS hopes to add other data warehousing tools, automated extraction, distribution, data scrubbing and scheduling tools to Orlando by early next year. SAS System 7.0 is on the way.
