SAS Anti-Money Laundering solution, which complements the firm’s recently announced money laundering detection offering, comes with several new analytic modules that flag suspicious transactional behavior characteristic of money laundering activities.

In essence SAS has pointed its core analytic tools at the process flows that govern fund transfers between accounts to root out suspect patterns and relationships. Anomalies are highlighted through visual clues, including case background attachments which detail whether certain transactions are candidates for regulatory review or investigation.

The system also comes with more advanced scenario-based analytics to anticipate variances against normal account behaviors.

SAS says the new functionality included in the release is driven directly from recommendations and feedback from its vast banking and financial services customer base.
