SAS has been placed in the Leaders quadrant in Gartner’s latest Magic Quadrant for Data Quality Tools, the company has announced.

Gartner has assessed the company’s SAS DataFlux data management technology based on various criteria which include functionality, integration, ease of use, customer support and product roadmap.

According to Gartner, the firms which demonstrate strength across a various data quality functions, which include profiling, parsing, standardisation, matching, validation and enrichment are placed in the Leaders quadrant.

Firms in the Leaders will demonstrate a clear understanding and vision of current market position including identification of non-customer data quality issues and delivering enterprise-level data quality implementations, Gartner said.

SAS senior vice president and chief marketing officer Jim Davis said enterprises appreciate the platform’s ease of use and ability to quickly and easily integrate multiple data sources into a single, master source. "By treating data like a corporate asset, our customers are able to derive key business information to make better, more informed decisions," Davis said.

SAS recently absorbed its DataFlux subsidiary in a move to collaborate both of its businesses and fully capitalise on opportunities through the implementation of technology and resources of both the firms, the company announced.

"We believe that by fully integrating DataFlux into the SAS organisation, the product line will be able to take advantage of a stellar team of developers, sales staff, and the company’s overall global resources," Davis said.

"As we continue to execute on the information management product road map, we’re looking forward to expanding our capabilities within big data environments and fully leveraging the federated data component of the platform," he added.
