This is purely speculation, but a little birdie tells me they hear the rumour is that SAP is looking to buy Tibco.

I haven’t asked for official comment from either yet (it’s late on a Friday and it’s my company party tonight) but presumably the response would be “We don’t comment on rumours.” I’ll keep you posted but if you’ve heard anything feel free to drop us a line.

My first take is that I would be surprised. SAP has invested a lot in NetWeaver and though integration is mostly SAP-only, they can integrate other stuff too, and besides Tibco is flying right now with a superb quarter and a CEO who appears to be enjoying beating the competition.
