German enterprise resource planning giant, SAP AG has lost its UK managing director. Kevin Gibson, 35, was in the position for only fourteen months before leaving to become VP in charge of European operations of Ariba Technologies Inc, the Sunnyvale, California internet commerce company. SAP said in a prepared statement that the resignation was amicable on both sides. Kevin Gibson, 35, spent seven years with SAP, and for the last 14 months was the UK’s MD. He joined the company in 1992, and was made managing director in February 1998. SAP has appointed Erwin (Ernie) Gunst as his replacement. Gunst has been MD of SAP Switzerland and has also had country responsibility for SAP in Belgium.
