The partnership is expected to consolidate SAP’s presence in the public sector industry. The company also has an agreement with rival IBM to develop and market social services-orientated technology, initially focusing on child welfare agencies.

In the new agreement with KMD, the two companies said they will initially develop software that will support the delivery of illness and maternity leave benefits.

The new technology will build on the existing integrated case-management capabilities of the mySAP Customer Relationship Management platform and mySAP ERP to cover the related human capital management processes. The combined result will aim to enable users across various agencies to work within a uniform workflow.
