The package will consist of SAP for Retail running on Dell’s Retail OptiPlex 745 POS system and PowerEdge servers. POS features include accurate and timely customer demand data, real-time inventory visibility and integrated returns processing.

These can now be combined into merchandising and supply chain processes to help retailers better track customers’ purchase behavior, identify buying trends and quickly process customer transactions.

The two vendors are hoping to benefit from an expected surge in retail spending as organizations replace their POS systems. They also expect to gain sales by offering an integrated system in a environment characterized by point solutions.
