SAP partners with Amazon to offer mobile device management application on cloud

Customers can manage mobile applications through corporate and personally-owned devices in cost-effective way

SAP has partnered with Amazon to offer its Afaria mobile device management application on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketplace giving customers a cloud based option for mobile device and application management.

It will offer a convenient, reliable and cost-effective to manage enterprise mobile applications through corporate and personally-owned devices.

The deal will make available Afaria 7.0 server on AWS Marketplace which will allow companies to implement an enterprise-ready mobile management platform.

Amazon Web Services senior vice president Andy Jassy said, "Adding SAP Afaria to AWS Marketplace provides customers a fast, simple and trusted way to shop for and implement an enterprise-ready mobile solution."

The collaboration will meet the demand for software that can deliver centralised control of all mobile devices and which can be instantly deployed in the cloud.

The company said the centralised control will help in regulating personally-owned mobile devices in workplaces with growing trend of employees using personal mobile devices for business purposes.

It will also help in protecting sensitive data and enhance employee productivity.

SAP Afaria 7.0 was released earlier this year offers simplified app and expense management, a consumer-like app portal with SAP Store integration and mobile analytics dashboards for business intelligence (BI) reporting with powerful drill-down analysis capabilities.
