SAP has collaborated with Palantir Technologies, a provider of intelligence analysis tools, to help government agencies improve public safety and security.

Both the companies have signed a global reseller agreement through which SAP will resell Palantir’s intelligence analysis platform as the SAP Intelligence Analysis for Public Sector application by Palantir.

The offering will allow public safety agencies, to upgrade their intelligence management capabilities to better anticipate security threats, the company said.

In addition, the offering is expected to provide officials with improved access to information so that they can make better decisions and act faster.

The SAP Intelligence Analysis for Public Sector complements the company’s BusinessObjects portfolio of offerings and technology, including analytic applications, and integrates with BusinessObjects Text Analysis software.

The offering allows users to integrate structured and unstructured data across classification and security levels, perform advanced search and discovery, leverage enterprise-wide knowledge management, and create intra- and inter-agency collaboration within a secure environment, said the company.

SAP public safety and security vice-president Sean O’Brien said their mission with the new reseller agreement with Palantir is to enable public safety and security agencies to run better.

"The integrated offerings from SAP and Palantir will allow us to address end-to-end intelligence processes for our customers in the public sector," O’Brien said.

"SAP Intelligence Analysis and Public Sector complements and extends our existing portfolio, and will allow us to speed innovation for our customers, helping them to improve processes that can lead to increased intelligence and security, helping make communities safer."
