SAP has unveiled new release of the Afaria, the mobile device management application to allow enterprise IT to manage mobile applications and devices through a new user interface (UI) for simplified administration, improved workflow and enterprise integration capabilities.

Afaria 7.0 enables SAP to provide a consumer-like mobile experience in the enterprise.

The new release enables end-user self-service portals to help reduce IT workloads by allowing users to enroll and manage their devices and the application management to keep workforces productive through app delivery, updates, security and integration with SAP Store.

Afaria also delivers device security to protect sensitive corporate data while leaving personal data untouched.

SAP intends to focus on usability in a single mobility management console by including a new UI and a new Web services application programming interface (API) layer.

The new UI requires fewer clicks to perform functions, making it simple for users and administrators and the new Web services API layer provides full access by customers and partners to help integrate with enterprise systems for automation between mobile device management (MDM) and the corporate systems.

Afaria 7.0 is integrated with the SAP BusinessObjects portfolio to bring new business intelligence (BI) reporting with drill-down analysis capabilities.
