Sanyo Electric Corp is the latest to lay plans to establish an internal global communications network to link all its Japanese and overseas subsidiaries, leasing packet-switched lines to carry all its computer, facsimile, telex and telephone traffic lines; last year it reckons it was able to reduce its telex costs by a third simply by putting in its own integrated internal telex network.
