Sanyo Electric Co, Osaka has introduced what it claims is an easy-to-use AX personal computer enabling those without experience to operate it at the push of a button: called Axage, it comes with an icon-based graphical user interface called Wavy Desktop on top of MS-DOS 3.21 and MS-Windows 2.1 and is built around a 16MHz 80386 with 1Mb memory expandable to 15Mb and 512Kb of video RAM; the screen puts up 40 characters by 25 lines in Kanji character mode and 640 by 480 pixels in graphic mode; external 1.44Mb 3.5 floppy and 40Mb Winchester are standard, and the company is expecting to sell 5,000 of the things in the first year at $3,400 a time.
